The Freelance & Published Works of Tom Russo

Tom is an award-winning author, educator and trainer with 30 years of experience in the strategic planning, project management, and professional development. Russo draws on his life experiences in engineering, recreation, association management, preparedness and his interest in national security for an interpretive look at history to draw lessons for the twenty-first century. Here you will find his many freelance and published works.
Tom’s writing pursuits, begun with grantsmanship, expanded with multi-disciplinary emergency response plans. During the 2009 outbreak of swine flu, Tom’s advisory literature for emergency service sectors, as well, as medical facilities, addressed both policy and logistics. The latest work is a chapter on “Pandemic Response: The Logistics of COVID-19,” a chapter in Immigration, the Borderlands, and the Resilient Homeland, published in 2023.
Tom’s freelance work continued with the writing of Corvette restoration and preservation, especially 1970 model years. Those works have been published in numerous Corvette magazines, and he has served as the lead technical writer for several National Corvette Restorer Society’s technical manuals. His first book Corvette Buildsheet Book, was soon followed by Chicago Rink Rats: The Roller Capital in its Heyday. That book won first place/Gold for the historical category in the 2019 Feathered Quill Book Awards. His most recent work is Wilson & Baruch: The President and His Protégé Crusade for National Security in the Age of American Isolation.
